Wastewater Management. Can improving the competitiveness of your business be reconciled with environmental respect?

Can improving the competitiveness of your business be reconciled with environmental respect? In some cases, absolutely yes!

First and foremost, a thorough analysis of the environmental situation and the specific needs of the client is necessary. With the right study and the right products available, the two instances can intersect without any problem. Customer satisfaction and environmental sustainability must be seen as two fixed points and goals to pursue, never in opposition, but ready to benefit from each other.

Let’s take the example of a New Zealand entrepreneur, the largest grower, packer, and exporter of apples in the country.

Every season sees an influx of visitors from the Pacific Islands to witness the harvest. These temporary employees are referred to as recognized seasonal employees (RSE), and as part of the complete package, our client offers quality accommodations and services in the various orchards.

The need generated by the situation is therefore the need to treat the wastewater from the mobile homes where seasonal guests stay, with a flow rate of 130 liters each, totaling 7800 liters daily.

The solution was found in the installation of two plants BIOWATER F with BIOROCK technology. A system that does not require electrical energy for purification and has minimal CO2 emissions.

The startup occurred in just 24 hours, the operation is completely silent, with no visual impact and no odors.  The system also excels for its low operating costs and high quality of the outgoing effluent.

In this case, the client can utilize the treated effluent to irrigate the area of land that will be planted and beautified. In fact, with 7800 liters per day, approximately 2500 square meters of land can be irrigated without drawing groundwater and/or having to drill new deep wells.

The BIOWATER plant with BOROCK technology is the only plant marketed in Italy with these characteristics to be marked EN 12566-3 and possesses DoP, a European certification for the treatment plants of civil and/or assimilated wastewater under 50 AE. The EN 12566-3 marking allows the BIOWATER by Dorabaltea to be in line with the indications of the Italian legislation D.Lgs. 152/06 and the Regional Regulations for discharge into surface waters, soil, and subsoil.
