Bonus Verde 2019, an opportunity for savings: with a Dorabaltea® wastewater treatment system, can you benefit from tax advantages?

The Bonus Verde is the incentive designed to support the care of private green spaces that complements other state incentives recognized for home improvement works. With the Bonus Verde, it is possible to request the Irpef tax deduction on expenses incurred from January 1 to December 31, 2019, for the renovation and maintenance of gardens, terraces, and green areas. The bonus amount is equal to 36% and it is possible to deduct up to a maximum of €5,000 in expenses, an amount related to works on each property owned. The maximum refund will therefore be €1,800. The Bonus Verde can be requested by both those living in single-family homes and those living in condominiums, according to the specific rules outlined by the Revenue Agency. In addition to the maintenance of gardens and open areas, the Irpef deduction of the Bonus Verde also applies to expenses incurred to create green roofs and rooftop gardens. The Irpef discount is aimed at renovation and maintenance works of existing green areas of buildings and therefore is not applicable to new construction homes.

What expenses are eligible for deduction?

The Irpef deduction introduced with the new Bonus Verde 2019 is valid for the following types of expenses: • greening of uncovered private areas of existing buildings, real estate units, appurtenances or fences, irrigation systems, and well construction; • creation of green roofs and rooftop gardens.

How to request the Bonus Verde and how to make payments?

The request for the Bonus Verde must be made when filling out the income tax return. For the 36% deduction related to expenses for works incurred in 2019, the request must be made using the 730 form (or Income) to be submitted in 2020. The tax refund will be recognized in ten constant annual installments of equal amount. You can request the 36% Irpef deduction and benefit from the Bonus Verde if the payments are made using suitable instruments to ensure the traceability of the transactions, for example via bank or postal transfer.
