Wastewater treatment plants, as provided by the Relaunch Decree, are included in the Renovation Bonus (which we have already discussed in detail here) with a 50% tax deduction for taxpayers who carry out maintenance work, both ordinary and extraordinary, in condominiums or single buildings. The Relaunch Decree also introduced, for all of 2021, the invoice discount or the transfer of credit to credit institutions or other financial intermediaries.
But how does it work in practice?
Before going into detail about the prerequisites, and the 3 simple steps to obtain the invoice discount,
Let's take a concrete example:
Imagine choosing a new wastewater treatment plant for your home, certified CE EN12566 and compliant with all local regulations, incurring an expense of €5,000. By utilizing the 50% renovation bonus, you can opt for:
the invoice discount, in which case you will need to pay an invoice of €2,500 (equal to 50% of the total amount)Update 08/03/2022 To benefit from the 50% discount on the price of DORABALTEA treatment plants, individuals can transfer the tax credit ONLY to credit institutions and other financial intermediaries.- the transfer of credit, in which case you will pay the full invoice to Dorabaltea, which provides you with the plant, and you can transfer the tax credit to the bank or financial institution of your choice. It will then be the latter that will return to you the 50% tax credit of the incurred expense (withholding its relevant fees).
- deducting the expense, in this last case, the Revenue Agency will refund you 50% of what you spent over 10 years, through deductions on the IRPEF taxes you will pay to the State.
Let's analyze the prerequisites,
Who can benefit from this tax incentive?
To take advantage of this opportunity, it is necessary to:
- be an individual
- plan the installation of a wastewater treatment plant, certified CE EN12566 and compliant with local regulations regarding treatment, within ordinary or extraordinary maintenance work on their single home or condominium.
- have the document for opening the CILA or SCIA practice
And finally, let's get to the point,
How can you benefit from this incentive?
The procedure, in practice, involves 3 simple steps:
- Opening the CILA or SCIA practice by your trusted designer
- Payment of the supply via a speaking bank transfer (with an amount at 50% in case of invoice discount), following the procedure “bank transfer for tax benefits” in your “home banking” service. In the compilation, regarding the Reason for the payment, you will find a drop-down menu from which you must select the item “Recovery of building heritage – Art.16-bis.tuir”
- In case of invoice discount, transfer of credit to the supplier of the plant through the website of the Revenue Agency*, which will in turn process all credit transfers from the previous month every 10th of the month.
*Note: For precise information regarding the procedures provided by the Revenue Agency and specialist support for the correct compilation of the necessary documentation, we suggest relying on the advice of your Accountant or a CAF.
And what if you do not meet the requirements or do not have a designer to rely on?
