The monoblock wastewater treatment plants of the ATLAS AT VFL series from 4 to 500 equivalent inhabitants are used for the treatment of wastewater from buildings not served by public sewerage.
Once treated, the wastewater can be discharged into surface waters or onto the soil, or for continuous uses, with a small plant integration, it can be recycled for irrigating lawns or decorative vegetation.
In compliance with the requirements of the European standard EN 12566-3, the ATLAS AT VFL domestic treatment system by dorabaltea has undergone effectiveness testing as well as complex examinations of static resistance, watertightness, durability, dimension control, and accessibility. At the end of the conformity analysis process conducted at PIA in Aachen, Germany, the most important notified body in Europe, and following the initial homologation tests and the adoption of internal company controls, the AT wastewater treatment plants with VFL technology have obtained the CE mark according to the harmonized standard EN 12566-3.
The domestic wastewater treatment technology using activated sludge is currently one of the most widely used for the treatment of civil/urban and industrial wastewater, including for large consortium and municipal plants.
The treatment principle underlying this type of technology is the oxidation of the organic load through the insufflation of fine bubble air, allowing the biological apparatus that forms inside to use oxygen for proper development and pollutant reduction.
The internationally patented technology of the ATLAS AT VFL plant by dorabaltea makes it one of the most efficient domestic wastewater treatment systems on the market, with a low energy consumption, its true strength.
The ATLAS AT VFL wastewater treatment plant is defined as monoblock because it contains both the primary sedimentation zone (biological pit) and the biodegradation zone of the organic load (biological aeration sector), as well as secondary sedimentation and sludge recirculation. For this reason, the ATLAS AT VFL by dorabaltea is adaptable to any plant situation, even with a single discharge column for gray and black waters.
The ATLAS AT VFL activated sludge plant complies with the parameters of appropriate plants indicated by the D.Lgs 152/06 Consolidated Environmental Act part III on Environmental Protection, regional regulations, DM 37/08 former law 46/90 “rules for the safety of plants,” and lastly, the European Regulation 305/11 CE EN 12566-3 (Construction Products Regulation CPR).
This regulation, fully adopted since July 1, 2013, introduces the declaration of performance (DoP), which is the main document of the new regulation and replaces the declaration of conformity. Under their own responsibility, the manufacturer or distributor provides the DoP at the time of market introduction; while it is the responsibility of the product user – the installer, designer, or project manager – to know the characteristics of the DoP model in order to assess and control the product's suitability for the intended use. The DoP cannot be drafted without the product having the CE marking.
The extremely high treatment efficiencies of the activated sludge plant with VFL technology, ATLAS AT by dorabaltea, make it particularly aligned with the concepts of environmental health and minimal environmental impact, thus contributing to improving the living conditions of humans in the construction sector.
The ATLAS AT VFL wastewater treatment system is constructed with polypropylene sheets, and its structural resistance to burial has been tested even for installations in high groundwater level conditions.
