On November 21st, the meeting "Winery Wastewater - Respect for the Environment, Rural District, and Territory as Economic Value" was held.
The training event, sponsored by the Municipality of Montalcino, the Order of Geologists of Tuscany, and the Consortium of Brunello wine from Montalcino, took place at the Caparzo winery (Montalcino, Siena).
There were many contributions from institutions, professionals, and public administrations, including Dorabaltea, the technical partner of the event. Public, private, and consortium entities in the area, key players in this initiative, addressed the topic of winery wastewater treatment from both a technical and regulatory perspective, focusing on the purification solutions for wine wastewater as an economic return for companies investing in environmental sustainability.
Additionally, discussions included topics related to environmental risks, bureaucratic necessities, guarantees for wineries, and the purification technologies available for treating wastewater from wine production processes.
The professionals who participated in the initiative, aimed at Geologists, Architects, Engineers, Surveyors, Agronomists, and public administration technicians, had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the relevant regulations and procedures to best advise their clients on the most suitable plant choices for their needs.
The awareness raised among participating professionals regarding the direct and concrete dynamics of the various purification technologies compared was highly appreciated.
The meeting concluded with a guided tour of the system installed at the Caparzo winery, providing the attending professionals with a detailed description of its operation and the benefits it has brought to the company.

Dorabaltea is pleased with the success of the event and the great participation. To also provide an opportunity for professionals who were not included in the list of participants (as it was a closed event with a maximum of 45 spots), a second date will be scheduled for 2018 where those who were not included in the first list will have priority.
