Sometimes, before installing an adequate purification system, it is necessary to resolve some issues that the territory, climate, or even just the location of the affected structure present.
It is essential to be able to read and interpret the characteristics of the situation, trying to hypothesize solutions that meet the client's needs without impacting the surrounding environment, but rather accommodating its peculiarities.
This is the case of a residence located in northern Stockholm, in Sweden. The building was primarily used as a vacation residence, but it was constructed in an area subject to very strict environmental constraints. The client therefore needed to install an independent wastewater treatment system with the challenge of not being able to connect to the network. This meant that the wastewater treatment plant had to be located in an area distant from the sewer collector. The house was also built on rocky terrain, making excavation difficult, which complicated the burial of the system.
In light of these particularities and a thorough analysis, the identified solution was: Septic tank + Biowater M and UV disinfection system.
The possibility of the Biowater system with Biorock technology being installed above ground allowed the client to avoid excavation operations. The system was installed near the residence because it produces no noise and requires almost no maintenance. The particular climatic characteristics, the cold winter temperatures, would have affected the natural biological activity of the purification system, so the plant was suitably insulated to maintain its purification efficiency. Finally, to be in compliance with local regulations that also required a high-quality final effluent in the installation area, a final UV disinfection module for the treated water was added.
