The Importance of Water Reuse in Agriculture
The decrease in natural water resources is due to many factors, one of which is overexploitation and unsustainable agricultural practices.

Agriculture is the productive sector that requires the most water resources and practices irrigation activities that often lead to significant waste: this is why the reuse of water in agriculture becomes a crucial area. The reuse of wastewater would indeed bring multiple benefits; primarily environmental ones, resulting in a reduction of withdrawals from aquifers, a decrease in discharges, and a lowering of the amount of mineral fertilizers applied to crops. The benefits for agriculture would also be significant, in terms of water availability even during drought periods, the possibility of reusing nutrients contained in the effluent, and the provision of quality-controlled water.
