Launched by Seeds&Chips The Global Food Innovation Summit, the Call for Ideas “Water First” on the theme of water will be the protagonist of the next edition of the summit (Milan May 7-10, 2018).
The goal of the initiative «WaterFirst!» is to find the best solutions to the challenges related to water use: a precious resource, essential for every life cycle, but increasingly scarce and polluted due to intensive exploitation at a global level.
The event in the form of a competition is aimed at startups, universities, research centers, and innovators, who are called to submit projects, innovations, and solutions regarding conscious and sustainable water use, the greatest challenge the world faces in the coming years. The Jury of WaterFirst! will be composed of the important scientific advisors of the Summit such as the Italian Institute of Technology (Iit) and the National Research Council (Cnr), along with partners and experts in food innovation. In its evaluation, it will consider criteria such as originality, impact on existing innovations and the economic and social system, sustainability, and growth opportunities.
By January 22, the 30 finalists will be announced, and at the same time, the 5 projects deserving of the 'hospitality' contribution during the Summit in Milan will also be established. The name of the winner of the first prize will be announced during Seeds&Chips 2018.
Applications for WaterFirst! must be submitted through the appropriate format on the site seedsandchips.com no later than December 30, 2017.
The initiative is indeed a competition, but above all, a further means to find solutions aimed at improving our future!
